It’s one of those boxes I have left ticked on my WordPress sites, but have never understood really why – just left it at the default. As an SEO point, what a valuable way to get more links into your site, but also to build community with fellow bloggers.

Hm, even so I am using trackbacks I have still not fully understood what they are.

Is the backling different to a link that I put in a blog text? Does it create more or less link love?

Hi Sean,
Finding sites that have similar content to my blog is important. With one blog I have I think this is a little hard. That’s due to the fact that there’s little information on the niche topic I have chosen. (Common Law)

I’m not sure if having no comperition is a good thing. If I create a similar site with and with trackback and I link the two blogs together. This may be an answer I’m looking for.

Creating my own competition could be a strategy to consider. I’ve heard of it happening in bricks and mortar businesses. Not necessarly with an on-line business though. Am I way off track here Sean?

I have heard of linking between sites and I do use that, so now I ask is linking and trackbacks the same thing or two different strategies ?

Thanks for the tips on the SEO power of trackback’s as I have incorporated some of these tips into one of my blogposts.

I too have seen a trackback plugin for wordpress but am yet to actually use it : )
