Diversifying Your Online Business Income Sources

Online BusinessDiversification of your Online Business is a necessary component in success. Relying on only one type of marketing or one source of income is not going to make you wealthy.

If your one and only business concern suddenly starts losing money, then you are left with nothing else to rely on. Plus, when you sell a product or service, there comes a time when you will reach the saturation point in the market.

There is more than one way to make money on the internet, and many times you can piggyback additional sources of sales on what you have already established.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at ways you can do this to diversify your streams of income.

Ways To Add To Your Income Stream

Of course, the most obvious ways to monetise a website are through an affiliate marketing program, a CPA network, or with Google Adsense.

How about some other ideas to make money in conjunction with your established ecommerce websites?

eBay

Why not take the products you are selling and offer them at this online auction site? There is no need to go out and buy the inventory before you get a sale. Offer the product on eBay and when it sells, you can have the item drop-shipped to the customer from the supplier.

As one of the largest sites on the internet, eBay has the power to substantially increase your income. You can even add an eBay widget to your existing websites as an extra source of income.

Writing For Income

You have established a niche Online Business, why not write about it? Chances are, you are an expert regarding the products or services you sell.

There are sites on the internet, such as PayPerPost, Blogitive, and ReviewMe that will pay you for posting product reviews on established blogs and places such as Associated Content that will let you do article marketing and pay you for page views as well (so you can continue to market while you earn).

Mentoring

Why not offer your services to someone else who is just starting with an ecommerce site? Whether your forte is designing a website, internet marketing education, social networking, or blogging, you will find there are a lot of people out there who are looking for someone that can perform these tasks for them.

Sell Advertising Space

If you can prove that your website is receiving a lot of traffic, you may be able to sell other companies on placing banner ads on your pages.

Be prepared by first compiling statistics that you can show to potential investors regarding number of visitors and conversions. This is just another way of making money from the marketing techniques you have read about here.

Blog Flipping

If you’ve come to a point where you don’t want to continue to market for a particular niche because you’re losing money or because you have accumulated too many blogs to reasonably maintain, consider blog flipping – selling your blog for profit. Beginners or those delving into a new niche might jump at the chance to buy an established blog.

Diversifying your streams of income need not be difficult or time consuming. Choose the right venues will increase your income and could enhance your existing Online Business expertise. In this way you can take all that effort you’ve already expended and use it to rest assured that you will always have multiple sources of income.

See you at the top of Google!

  1. Hi Sean,

The longer I spend online, the more I see how many ways there are to make money. It seems like everyone swears by something different. I think you need to choose the avenues that work to your strengths.

Also, I see lots of people trying to make money from different avenues at the same time. While I agree that you need to diversify your income streams, I feel like I need to focus on one thing at a time.

I think that once I have learned to make money with one system, then I can move onto the next. But, I don’t want to move on until I’ve mastered the first. Is it okay to do it this way?

It’s most definitely okay Jazz. Just make sure that when you do master your current project, that you also have something in mind for the next one ;-)

    Hi Sean

I have been thinking of ways to earn several streams of income on the internet. I like the ideas you have articulated here as it confirms for me just how diverse internet marketing as an online business is.

I will definitely be including affiliate marketing along with the leveraged cash multiplier sites I am learning about at present. I have a blog where I will be marketing my own products from and am interested in building blogs for myself and other people later on and blog flipping as well.

It’s great that we can diversify with our internet marketing education and make money from different aspects of this business.

OK. One thing at a time.

I like some of the suggestions in this article like eBay and mentoring, which I already do on a limited basis. (Remember I’m retired, eh?) Seeing as I got here as part of the Learn and Earn competition I think I’ll concentrate on affiliate marketing for the time being. But I’ve added the other options to my ever growing notebook.

Some interesting avenues to explore in the future.

I agree with the others – while I am still on the learning curve I will master one way first before I go on to the next.

But I am sure that once I have mastered all different ways of how you can make money online, I have no problem of using them simultaneously.

So there is my mid-term goal: master several ways of making money online and using them the best way possible for me!

    Hi Sean,
I’m pleased you verified a few things in this article. I like the idea of drop shipping on Ebay. I think it’s something that could be relatively easy to set up.

Affiliate Marketing, Adsense and Blogging is probably my main focus right now. Writing for income and mentoring is further down the track. I like the idea in this article of many income avenues though.

    Great article Sean.

  6. Even though I am just beginning I feel I have the potential to earn income from a few different methods online. I have an ebay store and a website which sells products as well as affiliates to products and is set up for adsense. Now all I have to do is start getting them all to make money.

Tried my hand at eBay, but found that unless you are able to obtain stock at a very competitive price, selling it online gets pretty hard. Plus with the fees, it just got too expensive.

Now blog flipping sounds like something could return a tidy profit. I guess it depends on the several factors of the blog you are looking to flip.
