What do you have a passion for? Is it woodworking, or restoring old cars, or watching sports games? Whatever it may be, chances are there is a way to relate it to your online business enterprise.
It might not be immediately obvious, but there are many opportunities to take something you love and turn it into a real money maker.
Does It Matter What I Do to Make Money
Yes. It is important to truly love at least one aspect of what you do for a living. Too often we find we can do certain things that make us a good living, but they are not necessarily what we would choose if given the choice. Is there really anyone who honestly enjoys working in a manufacturing plant doing the same tasks over and over again, day in and day out, and making money for some large company?
There may be a few, but odds are they are in the minority. Most of us want a bit more stimulation from our livelihood. We want to know that what we do somehow relates to what is important to us, and gives us the opportunity to make money that goes straight into our own pocket.
This is where your passions come into play. So your business is offering services or products for sale on the internet. That might not mean much, unless you combine it with something that relates to your favourite hobby or interest.
Owning your own business is hard work. It takes a lot of long hours, stamina, faith, and perseverance. It’s very hard to maintain the same level of excitement after the initial thrill has worn off, particularly if your business doesn’t thrill you.
Using Your Passion To Find A Niche
When it comes to an internet business, the possibilities for what you do, how you do it, and what you offer are nearly limitless. So why tie yourself down to a business that you don’t care about?
Let’s look at some examples of practical application for this principle. Say you are really passionate about sports in general, but football in particular. You love watching the games on television, you avidly follow the teams’ and players’ stats, you may even enjoy participating in a local league game now and then. Sure it’s a great hobby, but how can you start making money online from your hobby?
There’s many ways you can turn this into a business. Have you coached youth football teams? Compile your experiences and turn them into advice for the novice coach offered in an e-book. Are you a good writer? Write articles regarding the current season standings you can sell to local and national outlets or simply create a blog with subscription service that sells advertising space. What type of gear do you use to play the game? Consider becoming an online vendor for your favourite brand of equipment. Are you a better teacher than player? Create a video you can sell to prospective players. Is watching the game more your thing? How about starting a website that offers regular podcasts of local action? Maybe you are great at fund raising. Offer your services to small league teams and augment it with a website or blog.
These are just some of the ways you can turn your passion into an online business niche that creates a stream of income. Depending on your particular interest, the possibilities could be nearly endless. Look for opportunities, and think about ways of monetising your passion for success. Passion and purpose can definitely create profit.
See you at the top of Google!

Hi Sean,
These are some fantastic ideas for monetising your passion. The example of using your passion to find a niche is brilliant. It just opens your mind up to the possibilities of what you can do.
Building an online business does take a lot of hours. So, it’s definitely important to follow your passion because if you do what you love, you’ll forget about the hours you put in.
