If you are planning to launch a new product, the way you create the Product Launch can have a big impact on how fast the sales come.
A good product launch can help you hit the ground running with a new product that people are anxious to get instead of waiting while sales very slowly trickle in (if at all).
Plan your strategy ahead of time and this can help you sell more products quickly. If you create demand and excitement around something about to be released you can sell a lot of product.
Product Launch Tips:
1. Build Hype
Quietly releasing something is usually a mistake. If you build hype before the product is released, you will probably sell copies on the first day of the launch.
How do you do this? Social media, blogging, press releases, article writing and SEO are a good way to create viral marketing and get attention easily.
If you have other products and/or an email list that you write to regularly, you should put a teaser in about your new and upcoming product in several newsletter issues before release.
A countdown on your website where you sell other products can help as well. Sneak previews can also be very tantalizing for hungry customers.
2. Endorsements
If you can get people well known in your niche market to endorse your product by talking about it, selling it as an affiliate, and by doing a testimonial about the product, you can get interest from a lot of people.
3. Build A List
If you don’t already have an email list, you should consider building one. Get people to sign up for a contest or for a freebie can be a good way to get them to opt-in to your newsletter which will give you an opportunity to pitch your upcoming Product Launch and sell product on launch day.
4. Get Link Love
Ask people you network with to help you build hype through blog rolling you and letting you do guest posting on their site, where you can write a valuable article and Link to your site with information about your upcoming product.
5. Release Advanced Copies
Releasing advanced copies can help to build hype if people will do product reviews for you. The more hype, the better!
6. Affiliate Marketing
If you’re going to set up an affiliate marketing program you can get other people to help you build hype for your Product Launch which will extend your reach. Offer promotions to top sales people or those with the top number of links as well as other measurable competitions that help give incentive for others to build hype for you.
Offer affiliates a generous commission and some tools for marketing such as white papers, banners, online videos, and other sales tools. You might even offer a bonus to the top selling affiliates.
There are a lot of strategies that will help you maximise sales for your new product. What’s most important is that you create a product that’s worthy of all the hype you’re trying to generate and if so, your future product releases will be even more successful.
See you at the top of Google!

Hi Sean,
Recently I’ve been taking a lot more notice of product launches. Maybe it’s because I’ve started to follow people who are actively creating products all the time. You can learn a lot just by watching.
They really do spend a lot of time creating buzz around the product launch. They involve their friends and get them to promote the upcoming launch for them. There are lots of blog posts, guest posts, tweets and emails. It’s amazing stuff.

Some people are really good at Creating A Successful Product Launch. Others are not so good. Sean is good. So are some other internet marketers I have observed. I haven’t taken up the offers of the other internet marketers but their technique and hype is so good that I have occasionally felt some resistance in saying ‘no’. In the end the thought arises, “I already have the best, why go for second best?”

Hi Sean
This is a really valuable article as many of us would not know where to start to launch our products.
I thought that as I was just starting out I would not have enough notoriety yet to have a big product launch but then not having a product launch would be detrimental to the sale of my book. I am a bit ahead of my time but I will need to start making a marketing plan using the information in this article.
Thankyou Sean for sharing this wonderful information.

Some very useful information in this article. “Creating a Successful Product Launch” is one of those articles that will go into my ever expanding notebook to be perused when I reach the point that I have a product to launch. But it will likely condition me to examine the hype around product launches with less skepticism and give consideration to the techniques being used by the marketer.
Hmmm, maybe I could turn my notebook into an ebook. Available at only $9.99 for a short time.

I guess the word already says it – Product Launch. A launch normally is connected with lots of noise, so that also needs to be done for a new product so that people have a chance to hear about it.
Building up the excitement is like a good countdown and surely will lead to a better success rate. I will keep my eyes open and check out how others are doing it to figure out my personal best way once I start creating my product

Hi Renee,
I’ve been watching some product launches for a while and mostly they seem to stick to the regular ways. There’s a lot of blog posts written about it by the creator and by other bloggers endorsing the product. There’s a lot of social media stuff going on and countdowns.
I’d love to go totally wild and crazy and do something really creative. I want to have a flash mob to launch something, just once.

Yes creating hype around a product launch could definately be the difference between the product being successful or not. I get lots of emails from the people I follow when they are about to launch a new product-and lets face it as a regular reader of certain peoples blogs, I want to know when they are about to launch a new product.

Having a few days or weeks of teasers before a product launch can create a lot of interest.
If you don’t have a list, you could also consider doing a JV with somebody who has an established email mailing list.
