Do you want to know if you’re on the right track with your internet marketing strategy?
Here are some clues that will help you identify whether or not you are heading in the right direction, as well as some things to watch for and act upon.
Increasing Traffic
Have you noticed steadily increasing website traffic? This is a good sign that you are getting attention. It’s a good idea to track your daily traffic so that you can see where your traffic is coming from and see the numbers, which will tell you whether or not your existing internet marketing strategy is effective.
Increasing Followers
Do you have blog followers or email list subscribers? The numbers will tell you a lot about your success in internet marketing. A steady rise is good. A jump tells you something you’ve done has sparked some serious attention. And of course, a drop is something to be concerned about.
Not recruiting followers yet? Make a plan to start. Whether it’s through a blog, a newsletter, or through social marketing tools, more followers equals more potential.
Plenty Of Page One Exposure
If you create products, page one rankings of a keyword search on your product name will tell you a lot about how you’re doing. If you’re marketing in a niche where you didn’t create the product but you’ve got a good amount of real estate on page 1 and 2 of Google for some strong keyword phrases, this is a great sign. You can use this info to figure out where your traffic is coming from and help you find ways to continue to increase that traffic.
Conversion Rate
Watching your conversion rate (the rate of visitors you convert into customers) will let you know whether or not your sales strategy is a good one. Measure your sales against your traffic rates and watch to see if this number is improving month by month and you’ll know if you’ve come up with a great copywriting strategy.
Dollars
Of course you’ll know by your earnings whether things are successful or not, but just because you’re not earning immediately doesn’t mean you’re not on the right track. Steady earnings are good, climbing earnings are even better.
Beware Of The Comfort Zone
Finding a great internet marketing strategy feels great! All of the above are good indicators that things are going well, but be sure you don’t get complacent. Seeing great success is good, and hard work deserves a bit of reward, but don’t get too comfortable with your online success.
Analysing your internet marketing strategy is important in terms of keeping money coming in, as things can change in a New York minute. Watch for anything suspicious, such as dropping traffic, dropping conversion rates, plummeting subscriber numbers, etcetera.

The points you elaborate on in this article for Internet Marketing Strategy are very useful to note and use as a checklist. Too often we are inclined to get so involved in focussing on the big picture that those things that are the foundations of the big picture are forgotten.

I would have to answer no to the question “are my internet marketing strategies working” but I have improved since becoming serious with my blog 5 months ago. My conversion is low at the moment but I have sold a product so all up from here.

I thought my internet strategies were working, and was comfortable sitting in counting the pennys rolling in. I now realise that there is a whole wide web world out there waiting for me to sell them something. Increasing traffic and increasing followers with all these optimizations tips is now my new direction. Lead on.

But this begs the question – how to find them – you know I have never seen a suggestion as to what. Oh the obvious are weight loss, diets etc – but to compete?

I really don’t do enough tracking of my statistics to know what is really happening with my blog. This is the first thing I’m going to set up next week. I have kept sporadic notes on what’s happening with my blog.
But I need it to be much more regular so I can see if my internet marketing strategy is really working.

Well i guess it is working somewhat but after reading this I think it has some huge improvements to be made. I could definitely use an increase in traffic, followers & conversion!

Well the dollars have not really appeared, however its good to see visitors coming in. It’s also interesting to see the various places that people are visiting from such as Social sites, other blogs, etc.
