Email Marketing With Autoresponders

Email MarketingWhat is an autoresponder and why should you familiarise yourself with how they work and why they’re a good idea? Autoresponders simplify email marketing and can be a great productivity tool for you.

If you’re at all interested in Email Marketing, this is something worth learning how to set up. They’re very simple to set up and can be inexpensive to purchase subscriptions for.

Schedule Your Work

An autoresponder is a program that automatically sends email to people based on a schedule you set when you implement the tool. The great thing is that you can automate it to send emails out regularly for forever and ever. Your subscribers don’t have to all sign up at the same time, either.

You can set up a series of messages that will be sent out in numerical order and people can simply start at the beginning when they opt-in. This means that you can consistently work to build trust and a rapport with potential customers that find you in the future with methods that you find to be proven as effective today. A good autoresponder series can be set to a ‘lather, rinse, and repeat’ type scenario once you’ve tweaked it and found you’re getting great sales conversion rates.

This works a lot like an email out of office assistant program where you can set it up so that it sends messages out to people who send you a message. The difference is that it can send multiple messages on a set schedule and people can opt-out of receiving future messages without your intervention.

Email Marketing Benefits

This can be very useful to use as part of your internet marketing program because if you can get someone to opt in to receiving email from you, an autoresponder can be set to do several things including Email Marketing. The biggest benefit is that you can set it to do messages on a timed basis. Here are some things you can use your autoresponder for:

1. Thank you’s to customers that buy something from you.
2. E-mail courses.
3. Newsletters.
4. Special notices.
5. Management of a support ticket system.

You can set up support tickets if you’re supporting a product or have a customer service department, and you can set up autoresponders to sell someone a product over time. For instance: if you capture someone’s email because you’re promising to send them a free report, you can send them follow up messages later on to sell them something else.

Autoresponders are entirely automated so you can set it and forget it and let it run on autopilot so that, in essence, you could simply set up an autoresponder and a webpage and then rake in the profit.

Of course it might not be as simple as a quick setup and floods of cash but if you are effective at it, it could happen. The great thing here is that people can opt-out so you don’t have to worry about managing your list.

In terms of Email Marketing, the autoresponder is a very valuable tool that can save you time and effort and increase your presence as a professional in front of your customers.

See you at the top of Google!

  1. Hi Sean,

I think using autoresponders for your email marketing is a great way to save yourself some time. As you say you can set it up so that new subscribers receive a specific set of emails that are designed to help you build a strong relationship with them.

I think it’s invaluable that it’s automated. I know that my life gets really hectic at times and if I got new subscribers at those times, chances are I’d end up losing them. I think the key is in setting it up correctly in the beginning.

    Hi Sean

I truly like the idea of autoresponders. Automating my business in order to save me time get’s the thumbs up from me.

I have been looking at ways to build up a list fast and also to have an autoresponder system for my emails. It is a very fast and economical way to get sales messages out to alot of people at once and the message can be personalised to suit my style of marketing. Optin forms are also a great way to build a list of names too and something I am going to learn to install on my blogs, videos and landing pages.

I think in todays world with the expectation of immediate response you can’t work without an autoresponder to cover at least the “standard” replies and reactions to contacts made by your customers.

Unless you expect only a few contacts every now and then it will make your life easier and your business more successful if you (or your autoresponder) reply promptly.

Once I start a mailing list I will definitely work with that tool.

    Hi Sean,
It’s really tremendous that an Autoresponder tool is available for email marketing. I now know that if my email list gets too big to handle manually that I have this kind of help available.

Keeping in contact with customers is vital. The Autoresponder adds the personal touch. It can help to thank customers for purchasing.

I can have a ticket system set up for complaints or questions customers may have. So handy and it’s a professional way to service customers. Great news Sean.

    • Hi Jill,

I agree that it’s vital to stay in contact with your customers. Everyone wants to be acknowledged and by using an autoresponder, you’re ensuring that no-one gets missed.

I think it’s essential to have an autoresponder as the larger your business gets, the harder it’ll be to provide personalised customer service. Also, I may be wrong, Jill, but I think you need an autoresponder from the start.

If you wait to get one until your list is too big to handle manually, you may run into problems when you try to migrate your list onto the autoresponder. Hopefully, Sean will be able to give you better advice on this. :)

  5. I actually have an autoresponder set up to an opt in box on my site which is very under utilised. Using autoresponders is such a simple way to get a personalised message out to many people.

I have seen (read subscribed) to what I believe was never-ending auto-responder series.

I guess it’s good in a way as you set it up once and forget it. All the time your email list is receiving set emails from you, constantly reminding them of you, your service, etc.

I have yet to get into email marketing. I would love to double the number of visitors to my blog first and then work on the email side of things.
