Certainly you are aware that if you maintain a blog, you must post New Blog Content regularly in order to get, and keep subscribers. This can be a daunting task, particularly for someone who is not keen on writing.
So how do you come up with ideas for new blog posts? Take a look at these hints to get some ideas rolling.
Take One Idea And Multiply It
Have you found a great topic to post on, such as a current news event or a subject popular in modern culture? If so, create more than one post on this topic. Try breaking it up into a series.
For instance, if you are writing about a sports team, make one post pre-season that goes over player changes and how they look in training. The next one could cover highlights of the first season’s game. A follow-up post could review how the team changes affected play.
Another way to multiply one idea is to turn your subject into a series of posts. Say you want to write about a historical topic. Think about how you could develop it into a story. This then becomes several posts: the first setting the stage, the second going over the main action that occurred, the third as a review with some comments and how this affects current events.
When you write a series of posts, make sure that you indicate it at the end of the post to urge visitors to come back and read more, or subscribe via RSS feed. Each subsequent post should include links to the past ones to make it easy for someone to find them all. Remember to include the same tags.
Ask Someone Else To Write For You
Solicit guest posts. This is a great way to eliminate the need to do all the writing yourself. You can ask members of a forum, one of your mentors, protégées, or regular readers to do it. Write a post about it and see what kind of feedback you get.
How about interviewing someone of authority in the topic your blog covers? Most people are flattered to be asked to express their opinion or share their knowledge. Consider writing a list of standard questions that you could send to more than one guest blogger. This gives you several new posts with little time and effort.
Host A Contest
Posting details of a contest not only gives you New Blog Content, it attracts a lot of new traffic. People love getting something for nothing, no matter how small the prize. The contest could revolve around hints given in a series of posts, or direct visitors to explore archived content to find answers to questions.
At the end of the contest, write a new post announcing the winner. Now you’ve got several posts you can easily schedule for upcoming weeks. Just be sure to promote it extensively to create awareness.
Memes
Memes are kind of like blog chain letters. Start a meme on something and have people refer back to your own post as they pass it on. Don’t hesitate to participate in other memes as well. Not only do they drive people to your site but you’ll often get mentioned on other people’s sites as well.
With these tips, you should have plenty of ideas for New Blog Content. If you are on a roll, write several and schedule them for future weeks. This saves a lot of time and takes away the pressure of having to create a post.
Have a most outstanding day.

Splitting an article into series of stories is actually effective. Another tip, is to link one from another: link page one to page two, of course, two to three, three to four, and finally, link the last page again to the first page.
Thanks for the great idea Chrisile. If you have enough to write about for your chosen topic, splitting them up and linking between them is an effective strategy.

Hi Sean,
It’s not easy to come up with new blog content constantly. Right now I’m finding it easy to come up with content for my blog courtesy of your competition. I’m getting a little traffic just by keeping people up to date with what’s happening.
I love the idea of writing a series of posts. In the past I’ve been guilty of writing posts that were way too long. I could have easily turned them into a series and got more mileage out of them.
I’d really like to get some guest posts happening. I just need more traffic to my blog first otherwise there isn’t enough benefit for the guest blogger.

Hi Sean
Great idea to write a series of posts relating to one topic and making each one compelling enough to draw the audience back in for the next riveting episode.
I see evidence of you having used this method in your series on Napoleon Hill in Mindset Mastery, and it works.
I tend to write too much as I found out in my Ebook and was advised to cut it down by half. I am in the process of doing this at present and its good that it still retains its messages in the chapters.
Creating newsletters has been helpful too as I am very limited in the space where I can write information over 5 different topics so my posts have to be short, to the point and interesting.
I learned about this in the wonderful YOTA forum of course by submitting articles and getting fantastic feedback from the moderators. Then I took action.
Thankyou for this really useful information.
Blessings

Re: Ebook – If you provide good content/value then what’s the issue??
But your right – to the point & interesting. That gets me in a state of blank-ness sometimes. “I have to be interesting,” I say, “oh, this is shite, no one is going to read this & think this is interesting!” We can be our harshest critics – but the lesson I’m getting ever so slowly is just write the dang thing out. I’m getting more & more surprised at what is actually deemed interesting out their in the WWW. I saw a website last night that gets thousands of retweets, heaps of comments etc – but it’s not that great.
LESSON – just do it!! That person didn’t wait until their stuff was perfect or interesting. At least their out their getting it done!! I just hope it’s not with emotional blackmail (I chuckle – I wrote an article called Getting It Done With Emotional Blackmail – which I know you read Elly so thank you!!)
Back to work… I got heaps to do before shut-eye!!
Much love to you Elly & more power to you, you sweet thing!!

Writing your articles around your passions is the only way to go.
It becomes so easy. Perhaps to make a story out of it. There are so many ways to make 5 articles out of 1 story…
People love a drama, like TV, those drama`s are broken into 3 monthly saga`s. It does get the imagination rolling ..
Love the host a competition part. that might be applying right now…
When you start brainstorming you can actually come up with plenty of ideas for new blog content. Thanks for adding some more ideas.

What awesome tips…
I really love the one about interviewing someone. I’m gonna do that one – don’t know why I didn’t think of that before!! That would be something different for my blogs – and you gotta love changing “it up” every now & then. Keeps you fresh!! Don’t get me wrong I do use deodorant & shower regularly…
