Same thing that I do Don. I like to not only get rid of clever spam comments, but also read and respond to genuine comments. Hi Sean,
I have recently learned The Benefits Of Blog Commenting and this article has helped me to understand the benefits better.

One very important fact is that leaving a comment means that people can click through to my blog and possibly will read it. Commenting on blogs helps me to become well known and that’s good for Marketing purposes. People buy from people they know.

I always allow comments on my blogs but I do configure the comment section so that I can moderate the submissions before they are posted in order to minimize spam. I not sure if I should be doing this or simply checking the blogs on a regular basis and removing the obvious spam comments.
